TRUMPET SUMMIT
The day I have always dreamed about is about to come soon. In this dream I shared the stage with legends Randy Brecker and Bobby Shew. The idea of presenting Trumpet Summit came up during Bobby's last stay in Prague when he was one of the stars at Prague Proms 2011. We all can't wait to spend wonderful days together, and in particular under the supervision of Vince Mendoza. The songs on program are not really easy, but this is what I think the Prague audience will gladly welcome. The Bigband, CNSO and lots of friends will meet in the Smetana Hall, and I hope we will make you all happy.

Prague Proms 2012 is over
Dear friends and all, who care about us,

we gladly prepared, rehearsed and performed all festival concerts. I think I can speak on behalf not only of CNSO and its conductors, but also of all the soloists from all around the world.

All foreign artists will be happy to return to Prague and many more, who have not been to Prague yet, are looking forward to next summer and meeting you at Prague Proms 2013.

And so do we...!!

May 2, 2012 20th season
The CNSO is celebrating its 20th anniversary
The 19th season is dead. Long live the 20th.
Though this might sound as a cliché the bare fact is that the orchestra I founded twenty years ago is now approaching its 20th season.

In its new season, the orchestra will celebrate the transformation into the premiere ensemble. The concert series has grown each year and the anniversary season wants to become a festival of the artists we highly respect and similarly they like collaboration with us. Besides Maestro Libor Pešek - our Chief Conductor , we have again invited Carl Davis and Marcello Rota. Also, the 20th season will be an introduction of new personalities on our stage – the world-renowned artists Helmuth Rilling and Vince Mendoza. Among the soloists who will guest appear with the CNSO are also superb jazz musicians Randy Brecker and Bobby Shew.

We are looking forward to bring you classical concerts with the music of Mahler, Berlioz, or Händel. As well, we've got used to genre overlapping so our new concert series of course includes jazz music concerts, or The Beatles Night. Together with Carl Davis we will mark the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' debut single "Love Me Do", released in Britain on the 5th October 1962. You will hear our heart play!

I'm really happy about all this. Such an enjoyment and success! I hope, not just for me!

Believe me, if I have enough power and if enlightened people are still willing to support us - we want to go on until the dream fifty, at least!

Please, keep your fingers crossed.

February 29, 2012 Libor Pesek
On April 25 Maestro Libor Pešek, the Chiefconductor of the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, will introduce his favourite compositions of Richard Strauss. Playing Don Juan, Also sprach Zarathustra, and The Four Last Songs in one concert will be a great delight! Happy to know Libor and I both have the same "cup of tea".
